Challenge 30 – Day 13

This is the best yet!
And as you know, it took long enough! About 2 hours I would say. Terminally slow, but making progress.
Looking good! Have you enjoyed the process? I’m thinking I might do some daily sketching like this in January.
Am I enjoying it, Nola? Debatable. I like it when I’m sitting drawing but getting to that point is a challenge in itself. This isn’t a 10 minute a day thing and I’m conscious that I don’t always have the time to spend on it and I’m not one of those who is happy with a quick sketch. In my case that always turns into a quick load of rubbish.
However, there are some benefits to doing this alone at home. I’ve been in several so-called drawing classes over the years and they always start with pencils and quickly move you on to painting or charcoal by week 2+. There’s a set programme and no matter how many times I say I want to draw with pencils, coloured or not, it never fits into a class situation. For me, painting (and charcoal) is another whole subject. I’ve joined a short course in February entitled Creative Art for Anyone so that should be interesting. Let’s hope it has a more varied content.
