Having finally managed to finish cutting my piece of lino just before Christmas I’ve been itching to print it.  I have a specific idea in mind but thought I’d trial a few different colours and see how they look.

First proof, always black, and it’s as dynamic as I’d hoped.

Hansa Yellow Light with a touch of Napthol Scarlet.  Great colour but I don’t think it’s going to show up on the coloured background for my project.

Further along the orange scale adding a smidge of Quinacridone Red to take the brilliance away.  Like this colour too, and it might work.

Straight Napthol Scarlet and this has reminded me why that tub is the least used of my supplies.  No, not for me this one BUT it might work with my background.

All oil-based inks were mixed with around 35% extender medium and printed on 110gsm cartridge paper.

Time for trials on my prepared backgrounds and on the paper I intend to use for the finished project.
