Brand Logo

Woolooware Bay is the transformation of the Cronulla Sutherland Leagues Club waterfront land holdings into a vibrant Town Centre.  The Club has embarked on this historic development program to secure the Club’s financial future, create new Sharkies (the name we locals fondly call The Cronulla Sharks Rugby League Club) premises, and enhance its central role in the community.

My husband and I recently spoke with an official involved with the development and were given various brochures filled with info.

Woolooware-Bay-1From the photo above you can see the site and surrounds; a lush green area alongside a beautiful bay foreshore and a short distance to the beaches and sea front.  Cronulla is renowned for good restaurants, serving contemporary Australian cuisine as well as international fair.  The climate is temperate with long summer days and warm evenings, just perfect for a stroll along the promenade.  It is well serviced by public transport, outdoor concerts are held there, many sporting activities are run.  It has all the attractions any good beachside suburb requires.

So why am I writing this?  I like graphic art, I love logos and how they relate back to the products or companies they represent and the Woolooware Bay logo is a superb example.

Woolooware-BayI’m very proud of my Shire, that is Sutherland Shire, and this logo says it all.

We have everything here: huge blue skies, beaches and sea which invites you to swim or surf, bushland and walkways, farmers markets with the freshest food directly from the growers, fabulous restaurants and a lifestyle that is suited to both busy city commuters and those who have more leisure time in the area.

The circular aspect of the logo keeps my eyes constantly looping around the sections, discovering another detail each time.  It’s fresh, crisp and bold against the black background and has translated well into the simplified version showing on the first photo.

This is one to be put in my sketchbook for future reference.  I can’t wait until Our Bay comes to life.

  1. Dear Claire
I just came across your blog. Thank you for your positive comments about Woolooware Bay and especially the design of our beautiful logo. If you have time, please visit the Display Suite which opened last December, and you can see more creative representations and graphics showing how the “Bay comes to life”.

Hi Colleen. We met at the Gymea fair last year, and my husband and I received an invitation to the Display Suite at the end of last year and came to view the plans for the area. The development seems to be very successful and I know several people who have either bought or are considering it. I’m enjoying following the progress.
I do think the logo is particularly suited to both the area and the project. It definitely showcases the best of the Shire.
