Impossible to get a good scan of this image as it’s out of a magazine and the heavier picture on the reverse of the page comes straight through the paper.

Liana Finck is a cartoonist and an illustrator and has contributed to The New Yorker since 2015.  There is a terrific article about her in The Guardian on-line, where the concept of “micro-unkindnessess” is explored.

This image, appearing at a point of large upheaval in my life, reminds me not to become overwhelmed by the forest but to navigate one tree at a time.
